determined existence. The struggle of the tribe to survive, lead primarily by Bron, makes one feel very fortunate to live in today’s world. Bron leads the clan to the valley of light as stated in the introduction As you can imagine, arising each day is an adventure in these times. It is a very interesting and thought provoking book. If I have a problem with the book, it is because of the style of writing that Larry Winebrenner has. A lot of one and two line paragraphs tend to be distracting. Also, not quite enough scene description. -But that is just my opinion. I recommend this book for those interested in History, and the History of mankind in particular. It’s a good read.
Winebrenner’s tale explores the intricacies of primitive life and the inherent paradoxes that people face in a society without legal constraints. Bigamy and homosexuality are among the issues explored as the Himeets try to find personal happiness within the confines of the clan’s infrastructure. Yet there is always the ultimate need for solidarity as they face threats from outside the community such as that posed by the monster known only as Ssss. The clan’s trapper Orig remains a valuable ally, and Bron has the creature comforts afforded him by his female companions Vava and Ila as they they build a foundation for future generations to build on.For action fans and readers that delight in tales of primitive societies providing us with universal morals, Bron – Trek Master by Larry Winebrenner is an essential read.
